There are two full time, commercially funded posts available immediately until 31 March 2023 to support the work of Professor Clive Ballard.

Please note that as of 1st September 2022 our colleges and schools will be moving into a new structure which will consist of the following three Faculties – Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, (to include the Medical School),  Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy, and Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.

The post

The successful candidates will provide front line support and advice to academics, partners and research participants involved in the running and delivery of the Skyline and PROTECT studies.

Skyline is a large-scale multi-national clinical trial that will be recruiting healthy older adults in Exeter and will examine a potential preventative therapeutic for dementia. PROTECT is a collaborative project between the University of Exeter and Kings College London that provides an online platform to conduct research into new treatments to reduce the risk of dementia.

The post holders will be responsible for the day-to-day management of research information and communications projects and will be expected to work with internal researchers, senior research team leads and external partners effectively. You will also work closely with members of the wider Communications and Marketing teams, as well as with other colleagues from across the University to support the communications strategy, participant recruitment and delivery of the Skyline and PROTECT studies. 

About you

Applicants will: 

  • be able to engage and support research participants for Skyline and PROTECT including organisation and delivery of study visits and activities
  • be required to maintain and develop a number of communications channels which seek to ensure relevant audiences are kept up to date with news and priorities as appropriate
  • need to implement a variety of communications plans and messages that are suitable for a large and diverse organisation by using a variety of face to face, written and electronic communications
  • support the implementation and delivery of a number of project level communications plans/campaigns and will be required to support the teams to manage and execute significant aspects of these communications plans/campaigns. This will include generating news stories, writing emails, and writing copy for publications and websites.
