Regular Giving Manager (Maternity Cover)

Updated: 2 months ago
Location: London, ENGLAND
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 11 Mar 2024

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Regular Giving Manager on a twelve-month maternity cover contract to join the Directorate of Development and Alumni Engagement at Queen Mary University of London. Queen Mary is a world-leading research-intensive university with a difference – we open the doors of opportunity to anyone with the talent and potential to succeed. Recently named the UK’s top university for social mobility, we are leading the way in inclusivity among Russell Group universities: of our London undergraduate students, over 92% are from state schools; 75% are BAME; and 49% are the first in their families to go to university.

The role of Regular Giving Manager is pivotal to ensuring we can provide life-changing opportunities to students who need them most, with bursaries, scholarships and career support. Through acquisition, retention and upgrade campaigns across multiple channels including digital, direct mail and the annual telephone campaign, you will significantly grow our pool of regular donors, improve donor loyalty, increase philanthropic income and overall engagement with Queen Mary. You will deliver a first-class supporter journey, ensuring donors receive timely, relevant and compelling communications.

This role also cultivates and stewards a small portfolio of individual donors giving bespoke gifts up to £10,000 and works with our prospect researchers and major gift fundraisers to understand future giving capacity and encourage a lifetime ‘ladder of giving’ for Queen Mary supporters.

About You

If you believe you can inspire alumni and friends of Queen Mary to invest in the next generation of global leaders, then we want to hear from you. We’re looking for an individual with fundraising campaigns experience and an interest in higher education.

Experience of successfully developing and managing regular giving programmes and bespoke fundraising campaigns in Higher Education or charities, for example direct mail appeals, telephone campaigns and crowdfunding is essential.

About Queen Mary

At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable.

Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.

We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.

Benefits

We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities including an on-site nursery at the Mile End campus.

Queen Mary’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
