This is a full-time, permanent role, available from May 2024, offering the opportunity of hybrid working based on Streatham campus at University of Exeter – some time on campus and some from home.

Summary of the role

This role will be part of the International Student Recruitment Team to lead on delivery of the University’s international recruitment strategy in order to meet ambitious targets by representing the University to overseas audience, raising its international brand and profile and contributing to the achievement of the University’s ambitious targets for international student recruitment.

This role will be an effective senior member of the International Student Recruitment team, leading a strategic response to the University’s recruitment objectives in particular regions, supervise ISR staff covering the region jointly, supporting colleagues in wider international recruitment policy and campaigns activity, and lead on strategic projects that assist in international student growth. This include providing well-researched and timely guidance that contains quantitative and qualitative data to colleagues on matters pertaining to international student recruitment within the given regions to assist in policy making.

This role will also act as a designated ISR lead for a faculty in respect of all aspects relating to international student recruitment, to coordinate faculty international recruitment strategy and inputs in faculty global strategy as well as delivery plan jointly with relevant colleagues, attend relevant faculty meetings, support planning and portfolio review and advise on, support and develop international marketing, recruitment and conversion activities; to keep colleagues across the team and the wider service informed about developments and plans relating to that faculty.

This post will initially be appointed to focus on UK based international student recruitment including maximising progression of students from our on-campus partner INTO who provide both academic and English language pathway courses. The responsible markets and regions may change over the time subject to further review of university priorities and business needs.

About you

We are looking for a collaborative team player and strategic planner able to identify areas for improvement and taking pragmatic ownership for improvement plans, addressing emerging market dynamics and recruitment approaches, as well as positive influential skills to manage internal and external stakeholder relations. Experience in staff management or supervision is preferred though not essential. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate decision-making, taking the lead in implementing recruitment plans with minimised supervision, and working to meet objectives jointly set with Global Advancement and Global Partnerships.
