The appointment will be made on either the Reader scale, £51,260 to £63,018 per annum; or the Professorial scale, starting from £64,979 per annum; plus £2,623 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be based on a full time, indefinite contract

The Department of Biomedical Engineering is looking for a Reader or Professor in Medical Physics, with special interest in medical imaging/spectroscopy, to oversee delivery of three MSc teaching programmes at King’s College London and affiliated hospitals, in Clinical Sciences (Medical Physics); Clinical Sciences (Clinical Engineering) and Medical Engineering and Physics. The Clinical Sciences programmes are provided in close association with our NHS partners and include a high proportion of NHS trainees. The role will provide strategic direction and leadership to the above postgraduate programmes and will be responsible for their delivery. The post holder will be expected to develop a cohesive teaching strategy for the MScs; liaise with the relevant NHS partners and to further grow the total number of students joining these programmes.

The post holder is also expected to develop an independent research programme in medical imaging/spectroscopy, attract funding and build interdisciplinary collaborations both internally within the Department/Division and with external partners and to ensure this creates translational opportunities across the division. Candidates are expected to have a high level of technical expertise and intellectual leadership in the domains of MR physics, engineering and its clinical translation.

The selection process will include competency based questions and a panel interview.
Interviews are scheduled to be held in the March/April of 2017.
