The School of Law and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Reader in Criminology, from August 2024. The successful candidate will have experience of initiating, developing and delivering high quality research and of working effectively as part of a team to develop programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The successful candidate will contribute to the leadership of research in Criminology at Brookes, and will also bring their experience of postgraduate teaching and academic leadership to the Criminology teaching team. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research expertise is in the areas of cultural criminology or digital criminology, but are open to candidates from all criminological research areas.
The School of Law and Social Sciences is committed to the delivery of an excellent student experience and the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to, and excellence in, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. This includes experience of supervising PhD students, and experience of quality and monitoring processes for teaching and learning. The successful candidate is expected to act as a role model to colleagues through their excellent practice in teaching and research.
Candidates should have PhD in Criminology or closely related discipline such as Law, Sociology.
