Applications are invited for RAAIR Project Manager position within the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester. You will be responsible for the administration of the RAAIR (Radio Astronomy Advanced Instrumentation Research) Laboratory, you will manage, co-ordinate and deliver specific activities relating to this collaboration.
You will have experience of supporting management to successfully deliver large-scale projects and programmes in a responsible capacity along with financial administration and management skills with ability to understand and work with budgets, and other financial information.
The RAAIR (Radio Astronomy Advanced Instrumentation Research) Laboratory is a joint venture between the University of Manchester and CETC38 (No. 38 Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation).
By undertaking state-of-the-art scientific and technical research in advanced instrumentation, RAAIR aims to significantly advance the field of radio astronomy. In addition, it will foster an outstanding international collaboration that will bring world-class scientists and engineers, leading figures in the field and young researchers with exceptional international prospects and innovative potential. RAAIR is expected to become an academic centre of excellence for international scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges, an important platform for bringing together first-rate scholars and cultivating original talent, an international innovation base with major influence, and an excellent demonstrator of Sino-British cooperation. RAAIR will demonstrate engagement and clear links with the Manchester 2020 Strategic Plan and the Chinese Government’s “Belt and Road Initiative”.
