The School of Optometry at Aston University is seeking to appoint two Clinical Research Optometrists to join our myopia research team and contribute to the delivery of our programme of research. All candidates must be able to demonstrate the necessary teamwork skills to foster collaboration with existing colleagues both within the University and externally.

The Clinical Research Optometrists will be an integral part of a research team investigating the impact of myopia management methods on visual function. You will be expected to manage a range of research projects in collaboration with the academic team of Professor Leon Davies, Professor Nicola Logan, Dr Amy Sheppard and Professor James Wolffsohn. You will be based on campus at the School of Optometry and will be required to travel to national and international collaborative sites as required. Successful applicants will also assist in producing research presentations, clinical training material, deliver research and educational presentations internally and externally, and will be encouraged to publish the results of studies in leading ophthalmic and/ or professional journals.

Applicants should be registered with the General Optical Council and have experience of undertaking ophthalmic research. Those appointed at Grade 8 will have a PhD in optometry and physiological optics or a related subject.
