We are seeking a Head of Placements to lead the central university placements team that supports work experience activity across the institution. This role comes at an exciting time for Aston as work experience provision continues to develop with a greater focus on opportunities for postgraduates as well as undergraduate students.

Reporting to the Director of Employability, this role will further develop Aston’s expertise in employability and be responsible for placement student support, placement readiness and flexible placement models.  A key focus of the role will be re-imagining the placement journey to build on our current success, so all students are able to access relevant and meaningful work experience as part of their studies. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working in higher education in an employability setting at manager level alongside delivering projects at scale to support positive outcomes for students and graduates.  They will be an excellent people manager with experience of balancing day to day delivery with strategic needs to meet targets.  A solution focused approach with an ability to manage change and implement new processes will also be vital for success in this role.
