We are seeking to recruit an experienced Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to lead a small team responsible for the maintenance operations at the Aston University Recreation Centre in Great Barr.

The Centre is set in 48 acres of green belt with six grass football and rugby pitches, a cricket pitch and a floodlit synthetic pitch. The Grounds Maintenance team are also responsible for maintaining, off pitch areas including car parks, pathways, hedges, trees and shrubberies.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of sports pitch maintenance operations together with a flexible approach to working arrangements in order to meet the varying demands of the service.  

You must possess a valid UK driving licence, a tractor driving licence and a Pesticide Sprayer Certificate. Ideally you will also hold a Level 3 Qualification in Sports Pitch Maintenance and Turf-Care. Ability to undertake physical work and a thorough knowledge of good health and safety practice in grounds maintenance operations is essential. Previous supervisory experience would be desirable but a willingness to lead by example is essential for this position.
