Aston Business School is a Triple Accredited University (EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA) and one of the leading Universities in the UK for academic research (in the recent REF, we received 100% for Research Impact), excellent teaching (awarded a Gold rating in the 2016/17 TEF) and business engagement. We are only one of three UK institutions with the Small Business Charter Gold Award. In 2020 we were the Guardian’s University of the Year and the THE’s Entrepreneurial University of the Year. We are again shortlisted for the University of the Year in 2021-22. The University actively supports and finances academic and entrepreneurial spin-offs.

The Marketing & Strategy Department currently has 30 staff within it specialising in marketing, business strategy and closely related subjects. It manages and delivers successful and popular undergraduate programmes in Marketing and Business & Management. It also offers 5 postgraduate programmes as well as supporting a wide range of programmes across the rest of the School. The core research areas of focus currently within the Department are: Services Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing Strategy & Management, Consumer Behaviour, Sales Management and Brand Management.

There is a thriving teaching innovation and research culture in the Marketing and Strategy Department, which has a strong reputation for being both rigorous, timely and relevant. We support participation in international conferences and supervision of PhDs and DBAs and actively support business, policy and community engagement activities and executive education opportunities.

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking inspirational and highly motivated individuals to contribute to the development of the Department’s research, teaching and PhD/DBA supervision. The Department therefore wishes to appoint three Lecturer in Marketing posts.

The successful candidates will make a major contribution to develop and enhance the research and teaching activities of the Department and the Business School. We are looking for people with applied / empirical research skills and a ‘hands-on’ and ‘can-do’ attitude. We are looking for these individuals to play a key role in developing research in the Department that will attract external funding and research council income and create impact from high profile external engagement.

We are keen to grow the above listed current research foci of the Department, to strengthen our research profile, impact generation and business/policy support provision. The successful candidates for these roles will play key part in these developments.

You will have a good first degree, a master’s degree (or MBA) and/or relevant professional qualifications and a PhD (or nearing completion), teaching qualifications and experience, or equivalent, in a relevant academic discipline such as Marketing or Business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious, talented, gregarious, team-playing individuals to take a lead role in supporting the growth of an excellent department.
