An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Mechanical Engineering team within the School of Engineering and Technology as research assistant in thermal energy systems with core responsibility to conduct the research in waste heat to power conversion.
This role requires expertise and experience in the area of thermal energy systems, mainly heat to power conversion technologies. The experience in the area of low temperature and waste heat to power conversion technologies, especially organic Rankine cycle, super critical CO2 cycle, and/or Kalina cycle is desirable.
On joining us, you will help us to develop basic simulation tools and models to assess the waste heat recovery potential of key energy conversion technologies. The simulation models and tools will be applied for different industrial sites to assess the waste heat recovery potential. A preliminary feasibility study will be conducted for number of energy intense industries to analyze the economic benefit of the waste heat recovery from practical implementation perspective.
The minimum qualification for this role is MSc/MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field.
