The OIM Department conducts, teaching and engagement activities in various aspects of operations, analytics and IS/ICT. There is a thriving teaching innovation and research culture in the Department, which has a strong reputation for being both rigorous and relevant. We support participation in international conferences and supervision of PhDs via the Dean’s scholarships, and actively support business engagement and Executive Education opportunities.

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated individual to contribute to the development of the Department’s research, teaching, PhD/DBA supervision, and enterprise activities. We welcome discussions with prospective candidates with interests in the areas of database design and development, application development and analysis, digital platforms and innovation, digital transformation, IT outsourcing, robotic process automation and cognitive automation, Internet of things, cyber security, digital currencies, artificial intelligence and machine learning, IT management and strategy, databases application and software development, e-business and virtual organizations. We are keen to discuss new ideas in order to strengthen our teaching portfolio, research profile and business support provision.

You will have a good first degree, or equivalent, in a relevant academic discipline. It would also be desirable to demonstrate an emerging research path through experience of working in and managing funded projects, publication of research outputs and creation of research-based impacts in industry or society.
