The Quality & Training Projects Coordinator is a crucial role for the College as you will contribute to the review of the Specialty Training curriculum and ongoing development and review of SPIN (special interest) modules curricula.
As Quality & Training Projects Coordinator, you will support clinicians to design and develop educational resources whilst participating in the committees and governance process changes for College training, working closely with training leads and supporting their engagement with improvement initiatives.
Reporting to the Quality and Training Projects Manager, you will contribute to the development and monitoring of the quality assurance infrastructure that supports the curricula and quality of training, in effect helping to consider the College’s whole approach to the quality management of training.
You will also participate in work carried out to facilitate the implementation of policy initiatives affecting the training programme, from the GMC, the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and national policies.
In addition, you will lead the management of College Tutor activity and contribute to the design and production of digital communications and engagement resources for all stakeholders.
Degree qualified or with suitable equivalent experience, you will have a background in working with quality assurance processes and tools and experience of curriculum design, assessment and regulatory standards.
An expert in project management, you should have strong organisational skills along with a background in designing and producing digital communications and engagement resources, including updating social media platforms.
Experience of the application of educational theory and its implementation into practice is essential, whilst experience of working within medical education approval processes and of managing an administrative function to enable senior positions/management teams to work effectively would be desirable.
The Training and Quality Department sits at the heart of paediatric training for the College. It ensures application of the standards in paediatric training through the development and quality assurance of curricula, training support and assessments.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.
The RCPCH has more than 22,000 members and fellows and employs around 200 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The RCPCH wants to represent all the communities we serve. Appointment will be made solely on merit. However, the College is particularly keen to receive applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, and/or candidates with a disability who are currently under-represented at this level of the organisation.
The College operates a flexible and modern working policy, whereby our colleagues work in the office for a minimum of 40% of the week and the remainder from home.
