About the opportunity
The Daffodil Centre is a joint venture between the University of Sydney and Cancer Council NSW. This flagship centre combines the strengths of both organisations and the shared goal of a cancer-free future. We are looking for a Qualitative Health Researcher (Level A Academic) to work on a co-designed project that aims to understand how we can improve access to professionally run support groups for people with metastatic breast cancer in Australia.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- conduct interviews with patients, support group facilitators and key stakeholders
- analyse interview data using NVivo
- contribute to or lead the writing of a paper for submission to a peer-reviewed journal
- collaborate with external researchers, consumers and stakeholders within and beyond the project team
- provide qualitative research support to other projects within the Daffodil Centre as required
About you
- post graduate qualifications in public health, psychology or relevant experience within a health setting
- prior experience conducting interviews
- prior experience with qualitative data analysis, such as thematic analysis or grounded theory
- prior experience writing reports or articles for peer-reviewed journals
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong cultural competencies
- excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively build relationships with external researchers, consumers and stakeholders.
