The Faculty of Social and Life Sciences at Glyndwr University is looking for a Psychology Technician to support our teaching and research activities. The main responsibilities of the role include: working with academic staff, with other technical staff and with students to identify, set up and maintain equipment to run experiments in the labs; supporting practical classes and assignments; developing and managing equipment and space booking systems; demonstrating equipment and training staff or students; liaising with internal and external contacts.

Ideally the suitable candidate will already have experience of working in a psychology lab or similar environment and will be keen to develop new skills and willing to contribute to the growth of our Department.  The post requires a minimum of a HNC level technical qualification in a relevant area, or equivalent experience including an undergraduate training in Psychology or a related area. Many of the studies running in Psychology rely on specialised computer packages so familiarity with similar programs and other data handling systems would be useful. Familiarity with the use of social networking sites for managing the student interface and Moodle for supplementing student support would also be welcome.
