Duration of Contract: Fixed Term - Maternity Cover (12 months)

Salary:  UH6 £31,396pa to £33,966pa with potential to progress to £37,099pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience (pro rata)

Annual Leave: 25 days (pro rata) plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: Across College Lane and DeHavilland Campus with some home working

Main duties and responsibilities

The Careers & Employment Service are seeking a proactive candidate to join our innovative Career Development Team, to provide tailored support to students and employers. We are a friendly and supportive team focused on student outcomes and creating opportunities for all. We offer flexible work locations across our two campuses, including within our Careers Studio which is designed to provide an informal and supportive student environment. 

You will be responsible for the ongoing development, delivery, administration, and evaluation of targeted mentoring programmes for University of Hertfordshire students and graduates, that will involve working with employers, alumni and university staff.  The post holder will lead on management, communication, and marketing of the programmes with relevant staff, employers, and students. You may also be asked to support other projects within the team.

Skill and experience required

You should have experience in establishing and supporting effective relationships, ideally with employers in the context of graduate or student employment and work experience or with stakeholders in the Higher Education sector.

Strong organisational and interpersonal skills are essential. You will be able to work calmly and systematically in a busy environment, dealing with conflicting priorities with minimum supervision.  

Qualifications required

A minimum of a degree or equivalent or proven professional work experience.
