Education and Academic Services

HASS Q-Step Centre

This full time post is available from immediately on a fixed term basis until 30 September 2023 and is part of a project involving the University of Exeter. It is funded through the European Social Fund and forms part of the European Strategic Investment Framework for the Heart of the South West.

Summary of the role

This role is based within the Q-Step Centre team, which provides a range of quantitative training courses in the social sciences.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

You will work as part of the Q-Step Centre to develop relationships with businesses, individuals, groups and other institutions for the benefit of the University and its students. In particular, working with various stakeholders including employers, students, graduates, alumni and academic colleagues to assist in the delivery of programme of digital skills training.

You will provide general and specialist administrative support for the ‘Smart Skills’ project with a full understanding of the relevant subject area; to include working on the organisation of training and co-ordinating applications from students to undertake the training, liaising with the Associate Lecturer on the suitability and assessment criteria, the promotion of training opportunities to students and acting as a first point of contact for enquiries.

The post offers an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated individual with a keen interest in providing excellent customer service to students and staff in all matters relating to training and work placements. We are looking for individuals who can work towards continuously improving the student and academic experience across the student life cycle.

The role requires a flexible individual with strong communication skills, high level administrative skills, and with excellent attention to detail. Experience in higher education is an advantage but not essential, however you must be able to demonstrate an ability to maintain accuracy while managing a diverse workload.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
