  • Full time, fixed term position until 31/12/2024
  • Base Salary of $91,644 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join the Broken Hill UDRH North West Academic Centre (NWAC) based in Bourke, NSW. coordinating the implementation and delivery of a broad range of activities and tasks for the NWAC and its programs.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide project management advice and operational support to the Centre. Project work will include the development and implementation of health related student placement programs.
  • coordinate the implementation and delivery of a broad range of activities and tasks to meet agreed project milestones/deliverables
  • establish Medical Training Hub project teams, develop and implement project plans, preparing status reports in line with broader project governance requirements and managing multiple work-stream stakeholders and communications (this will include arranging events and training sessions for students, educators, health providers, and promotion through local media and community groups)
  • ensure effective collaboration and teamwork with other project teams and stakeholders.

About you

  • is a strong communicator able to deliver messaging on a variety of channels to diverse audiences
  • has good understanding of the local North West community and health workforce issues, and experience consulting with local community groups to assist with improving the health of the community members
  • demonstrates relevant administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, the project documentation process and the standards and methodologies of a project
  • has previously worked in the higher education/tertiary sector
  • can demonstrate awareness of issues regarding the delivery of health education and training, in conjunction with health-related employment opportunities in rural and remote regions
  • has experience with MS Office Suite-in particular, Word, Outlook, Excel and MS Teams.

Due to the large geographical area serviced by the North West Academic Centre some travel, including overnight stays, will be required to perform the duties. A valid driver's license is therefore essential.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
