Job Summary

The EGA programme is an innovative blend of online learning, residential workshops and action learning sets.  The role will provide vital support to the Executive Head of Programme (to whom they will report), academic Programme Directors and administrators as well as being part of a wider School of Social Policy Professional Services Management Team.  The post holder will collaboratively and effectively manage the governance of the contract awarded by the NHSLA to the Universities of Birmingham and Manchester to deliver the EGA programme as well as other externally facing projects within this commissioned programme.

This is an exciting role which has excellent opportunities for growth and development, as well as the chance to be part of a dynamic team working with University colleagues and external stakeholders.

You will need to evidence:

  • Qualified to UK level 5 (e.g. Foundation degree, HND) or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience of project management, preferably in an academic setting. Experience of managing large projects with successful outcomes.
  • Excellent IT skills, with working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software (including Microsoft Teams and Excel) and using custom systems and databases.
  • Exceptional communication skills both in person, virtually and via email and experience of working with people at all levels.
  • Knowledge of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010, and how to actively ensure in day to day activity in own area that those with protected characteristics are treated equally and fairly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to manage several projects with competing priorities.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • High level of diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.
  • The ability to cope with change in a fast moving, dynamic environment where change is often required immediately.
  • Ability to interpret, analyse and communicate information, and to formulate and implement clear proposals from that analysis, that can inform the development of strategy
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
