About the role
We have an excellent opportunity to join our Estates and Digital Services Team where you will play a vital role in the provision of high quality and client focused project management skills to a range of capital and revenue projects from initial briefing to project delivery. Working on an agile basis, you will enjoy a working approach which means that you’ll be both home and campus based and in a way that helps deliver a more effective work-life balance than ever before.
You will be responsible for delivering projects of up to £5million in value from inception through to post occupancy evaluation, which may consist of Long Term Maintenance (LTM), minor works and major projects. In the short to medium term, the primary focus is likely to be on LTM and this role would suit someone with a passion for, and experience in, projects with a mechanical and electrical bias.
In this highly varied role, you will engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout the life of the projects, establishing project brief, assisting in the development of business case and investment appraisals, identify suitable procurement strategies, lead and motivate project teams and deliver projects to time, quality and budget.
About you
As the successful candidate, you will be a professionally qualified Project Manager within a built environment discipline and hold Chartered status (RICS/MCIOB/RIBA/APM). You will have experience of managing projects of various sizes, up to £5m and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the construction process, project development throughout the life cycle and project procedures. Experience of managing principal contractors and external consultant service providers is essential and experience of working in the higher education sector would be highly advantageous.
Most importantly, you will be self-motivated, tenacious and focused on achieving results.
