Applications are invited for appointment as Project Manager (Capacity Building Administration) (at the grade of Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer) in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 515886), to commence on October 1, 2022, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The appointee will work in the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project (JCECC) under the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Project, started in 2016, aimed at improving the quality of End-of-Life Care (EoLC), enhancing the capacity of service providers, as well as raising public awareness on life and death issues. Applicants should possess a good Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Counselling or a related discipline and at least 3 years’ experience in conducting EoLC or elderly care professional training for medical or social work sector and/or related public education in Hong Kong.  Having a strong reputation in psycho-social and communication aspects of EoLC and knowledge on curriculum design and e-learning on EoLC would be an advantage.  Excellent written and spoken proficiency in Chinese (including Cantonese) and English is essential. 

The appointee is expected to develop, deliver, coordinate and evaluate professional training programmes and public education activities on EoLC; supervise other training officers; and perform other duties as assigned.  Applicants with less experience or qualifications may be considered for appointment as Assistant Lecturer.  

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary for Lecturer, or up to 10% of basic salary for Assistant Lecturer.
