The posts will be appointed for 3 years in the first instance. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.

The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre is looking for Project Engineers with proven technical knowledge and experience who are excited to work in a centre that is a global destination for technology and innovation.

We are recruiting to build our engineering teams in Digital Factory and Smart Design to support the development of innovative and emerging industry-focussed solutions.

You will work collaboratively with industry, technology providers, national technology centres, and academia to deliver key projects focused on advanced manufacturing activities.

This role is aimed at candidates with relevant experience in an industrial or academic research & innovation environment.  You must clearly align your experience to one or more of our key Technology Themes (attached documentation):

  • Digital Factory
  • Sustainable Polymers and Composites
  • Smart Design
  • Decarbonisation of Manufacturing (including hydrogen and green manufacturing)

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria: 

  • Honours Degree or equivalent, in a related engineering discipline with relevant industrial experience OR HND in related engineering discipline with significant relevant experience 
  • Demonstrable competence in the application of one of the Engineering Disciplines in Digital Factory or Smart Design Technology Themes, with experience of using a range of the associated Industrial Digital Technologies 
  • Experience of using research/industrial tools and techniques resulting in high quality projects and technical reports 
  • Evidence of supporting successful delivery on multifaceted projects within deadlines and budget
