The University's Finance Transformation Programme is an ambitious programme which aims to create a compelling new future for Finance across the University of Cambridge. Projects within the programme include Strategic Procurement & Purchasing, Enhanced Financial Transparency, and replacing our current finance system.

The Role

You will lead project teams in the transformation by ensuring the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard (within agreed specifications) whilst effectively resourced. This will be achieved through effective management of relationships with a wide range of groups, such as senior stakeholders, within, and outside of Finance, in Colleges and departments in the University.

Playing a key management role in monitoring and managing all interdependencies including the collation of other projects within the overarching FTP Programme including University Payment System, Source to Contract, Enhanced Financial Transparency (EFT) as well as other major University wide projects such as HRTP and Transforming Research Services.

Your Skills

Experience demonstrable experience of applying professional Programme Management processes to manage the delivery of the delivery of IT projects that utilise a range of development methods and approaches (e.g. Agile, Iterative, Waterfall).

Demonstrable experience managing the delivery of infrastructure, application development and/or Software-as-a Service projects. Experience should include working in a matrix management organisation and in large-scale (up to £2m+) multi-project programmes.

You will ideally be educated to degree level and/or possess an equivalent professional qualification, and must have practitioner or other equivalent qualification or demonstrable project delivery experience. It is essential you have demonstrable experience in client facing roles and managing suppliers and 3rd parties.

Location

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.

Funding for this post is available for 3 years.
