Job Summary

The Project Delivery Lead will take oversight of and responsibility for the delivery of projects on which the Interdisciplinary EdTech Lab (IETL) are partnering. You will work closely with the Learning Design Lead and Data & Innovation Lead to optimally plan resource, prioritise and manage projects and workflows for the team, and track project performance. You will be highly adept at project management and engaging stakeholders.

The post supports the broader objectives of the Imperial College Learning & Teaching strategy and involves working on college-wide initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver, in conjunction with colleagues, the IETL’s planned portfolio of digital education, including our core projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with relevant partners in defining project objectives and scope, and manage project governance (e.g. terms of reference, quality standards) as part of project initiation.
  • With other IETL Leads, supervise the scheduling, resourcing, results, and progress of digital learning projects, applying appropriate mitigation and ensuring on time delivery.
  • Regularly report on delivery performance to the Head of IETL and relevant partners, using appropriate tools and techniques (e.g. RAID logs).
  • Work closely with the Learning Design Lead and Data & Innovation Lead to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness across IETL’s digital education projects.
  • Monitor project costs in line with agreed tolerances and work closely with the Team Administrator to ensure financial aspects are monitored and reported as part of wider IETL budgeting.
  • Line-manage IETL Project Coordinator(s), supporting their professional development and running annual appraisals in line with the College’s values and CPD procedures.
  • Contribute to the team’s continuous advancement in the digital higher education space by implementing formal lessons learned capture and project closure analysis.
  • Lead on the ongoing evaluation, curation, and refresh of IETL’s delivered projects, utilising analytics and measuring against quality standards.
  • Support the effective implementation of compliance matters which are core to digital learning projects, such as Intellectual Property, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, GDPR, and provide guidance to colleagues.

Essential requirements

  • Educated to degree level in project management or equivalent work experience
  • Experience of concurrently managing multiple and complex projects
  • Experience of working in an educational setting
  • Experience in applying evaluation methods and QA as part of successful project delivery
  • Evidence of effective line management, including workload prioritisation, and the giving and receiving of clear feedback
  • Efficient and highly organised; skilled in project initiation, reporting, and risk management
  • Effective communicator who is adept at listening, negotiating, and delivering clear messages
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite and project management tools
