Salary

Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £28,203 to £30,440 per annum, pro rata (3.5 hours per week)


About the Role

You will provide comprehensive support to the Principal Investigator for running the project (Professor Zhugen Yang ), as well as provide support to 5 Researchers at postdoc and PhD level (3 postdocs and 2 PhD students). You will provide a high level of support ensuring smooth interactions across the project team and communicate with project collaborators and partners. This includes coordinating the project meeting with researchers and collaborators from academia and the industry, as well the necessary laboratory support for Research Fellows and PhD students.

Working in an exciting, dynamic research environment, you will assist in the co-ordination of the academic research, leadership and administrative responsibilities of the research group. You will ensure the effective regular coordination all aspects of meeting and diary support, working closely with colleagues in the Centre of Water, Environment and Development, and Cranfield Water colleges, across the University and externally to ensure co-ordination on relevant issues.  You will also independently make arrangements for events, e.g., annual project meeting with all partners and collaborators.

About You

You should have considerable previous experience of project coordination and the ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload efficiently to meet deadlines, coping with unpredictable volumes of work without supervision. Preferably you will have experience working on research projects and interaction skills with PhD and Research Fellows. Excellent skills in office IT systems and Microsoft 365 applications, including email, word processing, databases are essential, along with an ability to deal with changing office technologies. You should also have excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build effective working relationships with immediate colleagues and to deal appropriately with a wide range of contacts including senior academics and other university staff.
