We have an exciting opportunity for a Programmer to join the Oxford Trauma group at the Kadoorie Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), to be based at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

As a Programmer you will support the clinical research undertaken by Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care (OTEC) group by providing technical solutions and support for the research team. You will be responsible for creating and developing data collection systems and specifications as well as carrying out data cleaning and bug fixes, assisting with design, development and support of software used for our research. You will contribute to OTECs administration: production of internal procedures and standardised manuals of operation, provide ongoing maintenance of the data collection systems used by OTEC and train colleagues and members of the team as and when required.

You will be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent), preferably in numerate/problem solving subjects. Demonstratable experience in programming Web based applications (preferably using PHP), experience of version control systems (preferably git) and experience of administering and using IT applications, for example data entry, configuring a content management system, or user administration are essential. Experience writing SQL, knowledge of Agile development methodology and experience of data manipulation/analysis and management are desirable.

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for one year. You will be based in Oxford Trauma, Kadoorie Critical Care Research Centre but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.
