Space4Climate  is a stakeholder-led and funded community, chaired by the UK Space Agency, representing the UK’s world-leading Earth Observation expertise and global collaborations regarding climate data. The primary focus of the role is programme support across various functionalities, with opportunities for member/stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing contributions.

The Programme Support Officer will provide comprehensive, professional and proactive support to the Space4Climate Climate Services Development Manager, the Space4Climate Board and wider membership. The postholder must have strong communication skills, enabling smooth running of various programme areas with a focus on capturing and delivering impact.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Identify, support the analysis and reporting of impacts arising from Space4Climate activities. This will be achieved by building and managing effective means of capturing impact and through creating a reportable database of impact activities across the programme.
  • Carry out secretarial tasks from time to time such as minuting and reviewing new member applications.
  • Supporting the team by organising and managing events, board and members’ meetings, workshops, annual conference and other activities for the programme. Where required the postholder maybe required to attend events along with the team.
  • Support the management and improvement of the 2 digital database tools developed for Space4Climate members.
  • Where required, undertake necessary research on topics that will aid the programme mission and deliver value to members.
  • Identify established best practice in other similar programmes and organisations, and make a case for improvements that have a positive impact on our mission.
  • Develop captivating slides, data visualisations and infographics to support relevant programme activities and event presentations.
  • Learn the basics of the Space4Climate PufferTouch App and support on managing the app ahead of events.
  • Public engagement as required
