We are seeking to appoint a Programme Manager to oversee the managerial and administrative duties within the Imperial College NIHR Healthtech Research Centre in In-Vitro Diagnostics (HRC in IVD), directed by Professor George Hanna.

NIHR-HRC in IVD at Imperial is one of 14 newly established NIHR national centres of expertise across England that will drive life-changing research into health technologies. HRCs will work with businesses to support the development of medical devices, diagnostics and digital technologies. Built on our track record since 2013, our HRC has a particular focus on in Vitro Diagnostics, and will develop methodologies, approaches, and frameworks to enable evidence based product design, development and adoption.


Duties and responsibilities

The post holder will be working closely with other NIHR infrastructure and researchers, other national and local innovation infrastructure, as well as liaise with industry partners, strategic partners, manage the interface with companies and seek out business development opportunities.

A keen interest and thorough understanding in diagnostic industry is essential, as are experiences in project management, especially within a healthcare environment and/or research institution.


Essential requirements



    • Educated to degree level (BSc and / or Masters)

    • Working in a healthcare environment

    • Working within a large research organisation

    • Managing small to large, highly complex projects; demonstrating ability to run concurrent projects

    • Supporting large project delivery teams to achieve planned outcomes

    • Delivering significant projects and programmes in health – ideally with a research focus

    • Financial management in research context
