The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Molecular Endocrinology invite applications for this Professorship from persons whose work falls within the broad fields of endocrinology or metabolism to take up appointment on 1 October 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Candidates will have an outstanding research record of international stature and be active in the fields of endocrinology or metabolism in their broadest senses. The scientific approaches to be taken by the post-holder are not prescribed and could encompass any one or combination of biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, physiology, neuroendocrinology, systems biology, computational biology and population genetics, or other relevant areas. We seek a scientist whose work would complement and add value to the existing research programmes within the Institute of Metabolic Science Metabolic Research Laboratories (IMS-MRL, https://www.mrl.ims.cam.ac.uk ) and associated MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit.
The successful candidate is expected to have the vision, leadership, experience and enthusiasm to build on their current strengths in maintaining and developing a leading research presence. They will hold a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. The Professor will be based in the IMS-MRL on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. A competitive salary will be offered.
