Department of Experimental Psychology and the Department of Psychiatry in association with St Catherine’s College

Start date: 1st of October 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applications are invited for a Professorship of Translational Cognitive Neuroscience. This position will be held jointly within the Departments of Experimental Psychology and Psychiatry, University of Oxford and with a Governing Body Fellowship at St Catherine’s College. To fill this position, we are seeking a world-renowned academic with a track record in cognitive neuroscience and who is a major research leader in their specialist area of research.  We especially seek applicants whose research has had impact beyond the academic setting, and with leadership skills at national and international levels. The postholder will be able to demonstrate the ability to provide excellent teaching to high-achieving and challenging undergraduates and postgraduate students.

You will carry out original research of the highest international standing and enhance the research environment of both departments through leadership and collaboration. You will be expected to make major contributions to the strategic direction and governance of the departments. You will contribute significantly to supporting the educational and research aims of the departments; advance their culture of diversity, collaboration, fairness, and respect; participate in public-facing activities to engage the public with science; and promote widening access and participation in education.

You will hold a Professorial Fellowship at St Catherine’s College and participate in the intellectual life of the College.
