Professor of Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine

We are seeking to appoint a Professor of Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine to join the Bristol Medical School.  The Professor will be responsible for leadership and ongoing strategic development of newborn and perinatal medicine academic research. A core goal of the Professor will be strengthening and growing the research in perinatal and newborn health in Bristol and the South-West of England.

The successful applicants duties will include contributing to the Medical School’s academic teaching programmes (incl. teaching on MBChB courses) across the two level 3 sites and leadership of the academic teaching in neonatal medicine at the University of Bristol. The core academic time is 5PA, with an opportunity of a clinical role at Southmead Hospital for up to 5PA.

The job will be suitable for someone who has experience as a senior consultant neonatologist at tertiary or quaternary NICU level and who has an outstanding record of personal achievement and international reputation in a field of research and organizational leadership relevant to Perinatal and Neonatal Medicine.

Contract type: Open Ended

Grade: Clinical Professor

Salary: £93,666 - £126,281 per annum
