University Services, International Affairs is looking for three project co-ordinators to establish and maintain collaboration among University’s academic units, domestic and international partners.

The new Internationalisation Programme 2021-2024 promotes the global recognition of Finnish excellence in research and education, recruitment of international talent and their employability, career progression and integration. The University of Helsinki has been assigned several co-ordination responsibilities as part of the Programme, and these are at the core of the Project Co-ordinators’ tasks.

The positions are related to the following:

  • Finnish and Swedish as foreign languages: a national-level project to develop new flexible and digital solutions for international talent
  • Global Innovation Network for Teaching and Learning: promoting teacher education and educations systems development in Africa, China and India
  • Collaboration with United States, Indian Institute of Technology –network and China Food and Health –project
  • About the task

    As a Project Co-ordinator, you are a part of International Affairs, which supports the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and other academic leaders in developing and co-ordinating the actions and activities related to internationalisation. Within your area of responsibility, you support the academic leadership and other personnel, and provide administrative support (communications, meeting arrangements and materials, action plans, budgets, reporting) to them. You co-operate with Finnish and international partner universities, and co-ordinate the support of academic staff. You participate in other activities related to internationalisation, e.g. the implementation of the University’s Africa Programme, as may be necessary.

    The task at hand allows you to make use of you knowledge, skills and ideas, and facilitates your professional development. In addition to demanding duties requiring a degree of independence, you are expected to take on practical assignments, such as meeting and event management.

    About You

    We expect the Project Co-ordinator to be service-oriented and with experience in research and/or education projects in an international setting. You are able to master broad sets of issues, and are comfortable with both strategic planning and executing practical assignments. As an independent team member, you are able to prioritise and co-ordinate. Working in varying settings and cultures comes naturally to you. Oral and written communication skills in English are essential. An applicable Master’s degree, or equivalent will provide a suitable foundation for the job.

    Appointments are for a fixed term until 31.12.2024. These positions are an excellent opportunity to expand your skills in a fixed-term position within the University!
