The University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint a Primary and Partnerships Manager to join its Widening Participation and Outreach team. This is an exciting and rewarding role that contributes to the effective implementation of the University’s student recruitment and widening participation strategies.
You will co-manage (with direct line-management responsibility) a team of Primary and Partnerships officers and an administrator. In addition, you will co-manage the team’s relationships with local target primary schools as well as supporting our relationship with our partner organisation, IntoUniversity.
You will oversee the development, delivery and evaluation of key Primary and Partnerships programmes designed to support aspirations and to provide academic enrichment. This will involve sourcing, and co-ordinating, colleagues and students from a range of academic schools and central departments, to meet the needs of each programme.
You will be able to demonstrate experience in programme, event and team management at a strategic level as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and organisation skills. In addition, you will be able to build and develop a strong rapport with academic staff, professional services colleagues and students from across the University as well as staff from local primary schools and partner organisations. You will be a strong team player, have excellent IT skills and be able to manage a varied and demanding workload.
As part of the wider team, you will be invited to collaborate with colleagues on activities such as open days, and to contribute to our collaborative working groups which focus on topics such as evaluation, equality, diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability.
This post is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
The role is based in the Widening Participation and Outreach Team at the King's Meadow Campus, but involves some travel to local schools and partner organisations. This role also involves occasional evening and weekend work. The department supports hybrid working with arrangements agreed locally. In practice this means the team balances the working week with some time spent on campus or delivering in schools, and some time spent working from home to support flexibility, recognising that individuals and teams can be effective across different working environments.
We envisage that interviews will be held on Wednesday 17th January 2024. If invited to interview, you will be asked to prepare a presentation in advance.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Pete Bruce - [email protected]. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
It is a condition of this post that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the 'Disclosure and Barring Service'.
