This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, friendly and small team. This role holder will need to be a strong communicator, who will play a pivotal role in building the reputation, raising the profile and increasing public understanding of the University on a regional, national and international level. As well as possessing relevant skills and experience, the post holder must thoroughly understand and engage with the University’s strategic aims and objectives and the national policies and agendas that impact the successful delivery of the University’s vision.

The successful applicant will work with the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer to implement the Press and Media Strategy and develop a public engagement strategy that supports and builds our reputation. With excellent communication skills and an ability to develop good working relationships, you will develop a proactive media approach and build and maintain a network of local, regional and national media contacts that facilitates the positive media coverage of the University.

You will also enhance internal communications through promotion of activities and events, good news stories and relevant announcements via all staff emails, the University newsletter and any other appropriate channels.
