The Position

The President is the principal academic and administrative officer of the University to lead the University to meet future challenges, and is accountable to the Council. The President is supported by a Vice-President and four Associate Vice-Presidents.

The Candidate

The candidate should have globally renowned academic achievement and possess acknowledged leadership and management experience in higher education at a senior management level.

The candidate should understand, believe in, and be committed to the vision of liberal arts education at LU. The candidate should possess international vision as future undergraduate and postgraduate education in Hong Kong is destined to become ever more international. The candidate should have proven ability in academic planning and in formulating policies on academic matters, a cultural understanding of Hong Kong and Mainland China, and to lead institutional advancement activities in the community for the benefit of the University.

The term for the first contract will normally be five years and will be renewable subject to mutual agreement. Competitive remuneration and fringe benefits, including housing, will be provided.
