We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to be a part of the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging at Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences.

The role will be to develop computational and theoretical approaches to understand how knowledge is structured and reorganised in the service of flexible behaviour.  These models should speak directly to data that is acquired in the wider lab to help us understand and interpret our data, and to inspire new experiments.  The role will also include supervision of computational students and postdocs in the lab, managing collaborations between theoreticians and experimentalists across departments, dissemination of results through papers and conferences.

Essential selection criteria:

  • Intimate knowledge of representational tools for modelling biological memory systems, both semantic and episodic
  • Extensive experience of deep learning, including variational autoencoders and transformers
  • PhD in the computational neuroscience of memory
  • Proven experience supervising a team in data science
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write scientific publications, present data at conferences and represent the group at meetings
  • High level of organisational skills, reliability, and professional
  • Ability to work as part of a team, working co-operatively with senior and junior colleagues and share laboratory and research resources
