Postdoctoral Researcher; Psychiatric Epidemiology

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Forensic Psychiatric Group to work with Professor Seena Fazel and Dr Rongqin Yu. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford and is full time.

The post is fixed term (funded to 31 August 2025)

You will work on a project focusing risk prediction modelling and psychiatric epidemiology work related to violent outcomes such as domestic and sexual violence.  Your responsibilities will include coordinating and managing the project, overseeing the research database, conducting statistical analyses of the data, and preparing reports on the findings. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop your own research projects based on your interests and abilities.

You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD/DPhil or other doctoral-level qualification in epidemiology, biostatistics, big data or a relevant discipline. With demonstrable experience of working with population registers and large datasets as well as advanced statistical knowledge and proven expertise in statistical analysis (including multivariate analysis and data management). Experience in relevant software packages, e.g., SPSS/STATA and R and good writing skills are essential, as is the ability to contribute new ideas for research projects and research income generation.
