About the Role

This is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership project between the Multimedia and Vision (MMV) research group in EECS and RT Software. The aim of the project is to develop a content-aware sports video analytics component based on machine learning technology. The successful candidate will receive extensive practical and formal training, gain marketable skills, and will broaden their knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project. The post will be split between the RT Software premises in Hurlingham Business Park and Queen Mary University of London.

About You

A PhD degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related subject is essential along with strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a multidisciplinary research team is required. You will demonstrate strong competency in a range of Machine Learning techniques and should have experience of working in Computer Vision, with expertise and experience in deep learning applied to video processing. Experience in sport graphics developments and knowledge of broadcasting environments, specifically for sport broadcasting, would be an advantage.

The post is based at RT Software and the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 24 months, with an expected start date of November 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £34,733 - £40,797 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
