Postdoctoral Researcher – Cardiotoxicity

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to participate in the Ludwig Cancer Research funded research programme led by Professor Xin Lu and Professor Christopher Toepfer, to study induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes.

You will be responsible for managing your own academic research and administrative activities, which  will involve small scale project management, co-ordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate. You will also adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, such as PhD and project students.

It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in a relevant discipline, together with experience in using standard molecular, cellular biology techniques and expertise with organoids. You will have a background in cardiotoxicity research, and have experience with iPSC culture and differentiation to cardiomyocytes. It is essential that you have excellent communication skill, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
