Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Proteomics/Immunopeptidomics to join the Antigen Discovery group, led by Dr Nicola Ternette, at the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to join a research programme that aims to evaluate early stage anti-tumour therapeutics through to clinical application.
You will oversee the generation of proteomic and immunopeptidome datasets from primary tissue samples using LC-MS/MS platforms in the context of cancer. You will be responsible for MS data analysis using existing software packages and integration of other data sources with existing bioinformatics support; as well as keeping accurate records of data and generating written reports. The role will involve managing an area of a larger research budget, including raising research funds through grant applications. The successful candidate will keep up to date with the latest developments in the field including writing research reports and articles for publication.
You will have a PhD in biochemistry/proteomics (or close to completion) or a related subject and have a strong working knowledge of proteomics methods and analysis of MS data, reflected in peer-reviewed publication record. You will have familiarity with immunology and/ or cancer pathways and/or enzyme kinetics. The ability to plan and manage a research project, including a research budget is essential. You will possess a responsible and precision driven approach to working in the laboratory and will have the ability to work on several projects in parallel; as well as being able to solve complex problems.
The position is funded by Grey Wolf Therapeutics and is fixed-term until 31 December 2020 in the first instance.
