These full and/or part-time positions are available on a fixed terms basis from the 1 February 2024 to 31 March 2025 in the University’s Business School in Penryn, Cornwall.

T he role

We are seeking three outstanding and highly motivated ‘Research and Impact Associate/Fellows’ to work across our portfolio of business support, entrepreneurial culture, and digital skills projects in the Sustainable Futures team in Penryn.  These posts are ideally suited to individuals who are keen to develop their impact and engagement skills and as such we can offer these post-doctoral posts as full-time, or fractional appointments from 50% FTE upwards, to accommodate other professional or developmental opportunities, including writing up.  The successful candidates will work to support staff in the department, as directed by the respective projects’ Principal Investigators.

Largely based on the Penryn Campus, the Sustainable Futures team lead a programme of environment, sustainability and circular economy research, education and industrial engagement.  With around 30 full-time staff the group offers new, visionary, interdisciplinary taught courses and executive education and also leads regional, national and international research projects exploring societies grand challenges, from a management perspective. The team engage extensively with industrial partners by providing Executive Education programmes including the delivery of UK Government, Help to Grow.  

About you

For a Postdoctoral Research & Impact Associate/Fellow you will:

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of circular economy, environment, Net-Zero or sustainability to enable the development of new knowledge and to create unique business support and research opportunities within the field.
  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge in Management demonstrated by a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent, of the core research capability and knowledge relating to our departmental strengths, in order to conduct industrially relevant research and support learning and knowledge exchange;
  • Evidence of excellent teaching, (including Executive Education) identified by peer review and the ability to use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students and mature learners;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to build entrepreneurial networks or deliver outreach work, or build relationships for future activities.
