The post

This is an exciting opportunity to join a flagship University of Exeter digital economy research centre. DIGIT Lab (www.digit.ac.uk ) is  a £3.7M EPSRC funded Next Stage Digital Economy Research Centre which examines how the digital transformation of Large Established Organisations (LEOs) is enabled using responsible and sustainable approaches to innovation. 

We are looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for 18 months to work with the project team on a sub-project to develop new insights and understanding about business model innovation and the digital transformation in LEOs.  The sub-project has a focus on considering new products and services, efficiency and outcome-based models. The appointed person will work with Professor Tim Vorley, Dr Tzameret Rubin and Dr Jeremy Zwiegelaar at Oxford Brookes University, alongside DIGIT Lab colleagues in the Research Centre at University of Exeter. 

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will conduct a programme of qualitative research, engaged with LEOs to understand the opportunities and challenges associated with digital transformation. With an understanding of business model innovation, you will undertake a series of case studies with LEOs in different sectors to understand patterns of digital technology adoption; how data driven innovation can change business models; and how dynamic capabilities both enable and constrain the digital transformation. The successful candidate will be required to attend ad-hoc meetings and conduct interviews face to face, with the option for day-to-day work undertaken remotely or in offices in Oxford, London or Exeter. 

About you

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in their area of expertise and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively across academic and industry partners.
