This full-time post is available from 1st March 2022 on a fixed term basis until 30th April 2023 in the first instance (with possible extension to 30th April 2026).

Summary of the role

The College wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support delivery of the NIHR-funded programme of research, ImPROving GROUP Treatment for People with Severe Obesity (the “PROGROUP” programme). In this role you will take a lead role in supporting the PROGROUP team in optimising, delivering and evaluating the PROGROUP intervention.

The research programme seeks to better understand current services for people with severe obesity, and will investigate whether a new group-based behavioural intervention (“PROGROUP”) is more effective and cost-effective than usual care at helping managing this condition.  This role offers an exceptional, ambitious researcher with interests and experience in the field of behaviour change the opportunity to work on a large, multi-disciplinary project with potential to fundamentally impact the behavioural treatment of severe obesity.

About You

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in social/health psychology or a related field of study. Candidates with demonstrable expertise in the field of behaviour change are particularly encouraged to apply.
