This new part-time post is available from 4 March 2024 until 3 March 2025 on a fixed term basis.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The post

A 0.26 FTE position (9.5 hours per week) has become available for Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (PDRF) to join our Medical Imaging team at the University of Exeter working directly with Fiona Mellor.  This BRC-funded post may interest PDR’s from a medical imaging background with a specialist interest in MRI. Research within Medical Imaging focuses on new diagnostic imaging techniques including enhancing clinical imaging. There are excellent research facilities and state of the art Ultrasound, 3T MRI and PET/CT scanners. The University of Exeter also has digital x-ray, ultrasound and DXA based at the St Luke’s campus.  There is a supportive team-working environment and development opportunities will be offered to assist the successful candidates in their role.   

About you

The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in the subject area and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required.
