The above part-time (0.6 FTE) post is available immediately fixed term basis, until the 5th of July 2024 with the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.   

The post

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in research focused on children’s play. This internally funded post is available immediately until the 5/7/2024. The successful applicant will Lead school-based data collection as part of a feasibility trial focused on a school-based play intervention and other research related to children’s play and mental health.  

The post will include travel to schools across England to collect observational and questionnaire data; liaising with schools, teachers and children to support data collection; securely handing and analysing data; working towards and supporting wider project objectives.  

About you

The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in children’s health and/or play and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Applicants will be able to work effectively with schools and have experience collecting data effectively in schools.
