The starting salary will be from £35,211 up to £40,792 on Grade F, depending on qualifications and experience

This new full time post is available from 5 November 2018 on a fixed term basis until 2 November 2020.

The College wishes to recruit a Research Software Engineer to support the numerical modelling and algorithm development work of the GW4 "Centre for Advanced Architectures" and Exeter University Applied Mathematics group. This post is available immediately for 24months.

The GW4 "Centre for Advanced Architectures" runs the"Isambard" High Performance Computing facility. Isambard provides multipleadvanced computing architectures in order to enable evaluation and comparison of scientific applications across a diverse range of hardware platforms. You will contribute to work on novel algorithms and porting/optimisation of the OpenFOAM computational fluid dynamics software. You will also provide research software engineering support to users of the Isambard facility and the Exeter University Applied Mathematics group.

Applicants will possess a PhD, or equivalent experience, and be able to demonstrate sufficient work experience in scientific software development and high performance computing. For appointment at Senior Research Fellow level, you should also be able to evidence a track record as an independent researcher in scientific or high performance computing.
