Summary of the role

This full time post is available immediately on a 3 year fixed term basis, to be based in the Health Economics Group, within the Department of Health & Community Sciences, Exeter. Please note we are happy to consider candidates seeking a part time post.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow with experience in health economics to work alongside Professor Claire Hulme in the development of health economics research at Exeter. Focus lies in research around ageing, mental health and well-being. Experience of economic evaluation and/or analysis of large data would be beneficial.  The post holder will be based at St Luke’s Campus in the Health Economics Group.   

Health Economics in Exeter is thriving, underpinning methodological and applied research in the Department of Health & Community Sciences and more broadly across the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences and its internal and external partners.  Working in the vibrant and rapidly expanding Health Economics Group you will have the opportunity to be part of exciting research collaborations and partnerships with a range of local, regional, national and international partners.

You will join a growing team of health economists and will develop and support new and existing research funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), other research councils and charities. The post provides an opportunity to contribute high quality health economic input to a growing programme of health economics research. The post will include design and delivery of economic analyses aligned to, for example, economic evaluation and more broadly on the economics of health, as well as the opportunity to develop your own research interests.

You will:

  • Be ambitious, motivated, and have experience/knowledge of health economics analyses, including economic evaluation of health technologies
  • Have a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or have equivalent research experience
  • Applications are also welcomed from those with an MSc in a relevant quantitative discipline plus related research experience in an academic or industry setting
