We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Prof Nick Yeung’s Attention and Cognitive Control Lab working on a project investigating the mechanisms of rapid trust formation. The project is an exciting development of the lab’s prior work on the role of metacognition in advice taking, group decision making, and learning. The project will combine behavioural, computational and EEG methods to develop and test new models of how people learn trust in others.
The funds supporting this project are provided by the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). The post is full-time and fixed term (2 years) 15th March 2024 – 14th March 2026 to fit in with the finances on the grant and the US government.
The successful candidate will hold (or be soon to complete) a PhD/DPhil in psychology or a related subject with a keen interest and experience in human cognitive neuroscience of decision making and learning. You will have excellent statistical, coding and data-handling skills with experience of programming for experimental design and data analysis and/or EEG data collection and analysis. As well as a strong publication and dissemination record you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage your own research and administrative activities, and to work collaboratively as part of a team.
For any queries regarding the technical aspects of the project, feel free to contact Prof Nick Yeung, [email protected].
