Postdoctoral Research Associate

This part time (0.2FTE) post is available immediately on a 4 month fixed term basis.

Summary of the role

The Faculty wishes to recruit a part-time Postdoctoral Research Associate (0.2 FTE) to support the work of Prof Judith Meakin. This British Scoliosis Research Foundation funded post is available immediately for a fixed-term period of 4 months. The successful applicant will be involved in research to evaluate the differences in the shape of scoliotic and non-scoliotic thoracic vertebrae.

The post will include analysis of data already collected and dissemination of findings.

About you

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to perform data analysis of statistical shape models using Matlab and prepare publications and presentations.
