The University of Liverpool¿s Microbiome Innovation Centre is seeking an exceptional postdoctoral researcher with a collaborative approach to work on priority projects focussed on the microbiome and accelerating the development applications such as novel therapeutics in the fields of microbiome and infectious disease.
The role will have a dual focus, comprising both scientific and knowledge exchange responsibilities and is therefore an excellent opportunity for researchers with an interest in external collaboration and the innovation ecosystem.
You will work with key project partners including the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), TriRx and SMEs operating in the microbiome innovation space, identifying strategies and carrying out work to accelerate therapeutic development including: the optimisation of a range of in vitro and in vivo models, experimental design optimisation and data analysis.
You will have a relevant PhD and have experience of optimising in vitro and in vivo models and of working with microbiome samples and data.
The post is available until 31 July 2024 in the first instance, with a high likelihood of being extended beyond this pending confirmation of additional funding.
Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received
